Kramden Institute has four employees and over 800 volunteers. Below, you will find numerous opportunities to put your skills to work for Kramden. Technical Work - Led by Kramden's Technical Director, volunteers participate in refurbishing and equipment management. You do not need to be technical to participate in all aspects of refurbishing, but those with technical skills are always needed. Technical work takes place:
- weekly on Wednesday evenings (5-9pm)
- throughout the week, (10-3pm)
- monthly at our third Saturday of the month workdays, (usually 9-3pm) and
- at our Geek-a-thons at several venues throughout the year.
Super Geeks with networking and/or several years of computer repair experience are also needed to work on innovation and mentorship! (Weekly or occasional weekend opportunities are available. Education & Outreach - Under the leadership of the Director of Education, volunteers are needed to work with schools to advocate for and identify students who need a working computer in their homes to support their academic success. This includes:
- nurturing relationships with schools
- making follow-up calls to student recipients,
- coordinating mentoring opportunities between volunteers and student recipients.
Grant Administration - Under the leadership of the Director of Operations, volunteers are needed to research viable funding sources, and work collaboratively with the administrative staff to submit grant applications and manage reporting requirements required by successful applications.
Office Support - Under the leadership of the Director of Operations, volunteers are needed to support the administrative apects of the Kramden office. This includes managing correspondence, helping with data input, answering phone calls and interacting with volunteers and recipients.
