Please follow the steps below to make your donation process run smoothly.
  1. Check our Minimum Requirements (below) to insure that your equipment can be accepted.
  2. Make an appointment - Donations are accepted by appointment only. To make an appointment, please call 919-638-6200. We ask that donors be responsible for transportation of the equipment to our facility. For larger donations, we can suggest low cost transportation in the local area.
  3. Donate - For donations of LESS THAN 10 PCs/Monitors, please consider a donation to help with our refurbishing costs. The average cost for us to refurbish a computer and award it to a child in need is $65. Your monetary donation will help us put your equipment donation to good use.

May we suggest the following minimum donations along with your equipment:

  • $20 per PC
  • $30 per PC without hard drive
  • $10 per monitor

A cash donation is not required but it is very helpful.

A tax donation acknowledgement will be sent to donors, typically within 2-4 weeks, via email. The value of the donated equipment for tax purposes will be solely determined by the donor. Donors may request to receive the acknowledgement via postal mail. Kramden Institute has been issued a 501(c)(3) certification from the U.S. Internal Revenue Service as a charitable, not-for-profit organization. Kramden Institute can issue acknowledgements for tax purposes to represent the donation of equipment at fair market value. The donor is responsible for determining his/her own fair market value.NOTE: Kramden Institute does not assume any liability for donated equipment or the disposition of computers, data contained therein or other donated equipment and software.
